We’re a family business that has passed down through the generations and we have a great team on hand to serve, advise you or just have a chat. While the team changes from time to time, the passion and dedication to providing the highest quality meat never does.
Highly trained, skilled and passionate butchers have served you since 1964 and we intend to keep it that way. We strive for perfection because that’s what you deserve. We treat our animals with respect throughout the entire process, our beef is hung for between 14 and 30 days, lambs for between 1-2 weeks. A nice covering of fat ensures each carcass remains in top condition until ready to be sold.
Situated on the main square, the building was used as a guest house in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. It changed hands in 1932 and then became a butcher shop owned operated by Hanlons, until it was then taken over by Ned & Denis.
With strong ties in the community, the next generation have now taken on the running of the shop and farm. Barry and Kieran are born and raised in the area and are passionate about representing the best of Fermoy. The only sticking point would be their opinions on which team is better Castlelyons or Bride Rovers?
We put the quality of our beef down to one thing, the Cork weather! The rain ensures lush, green grass that is the primary natural diet of our animals on our farms in Rathcormac and Castlelyons.
Our animals enjoy a quiet, stress free life. When their time comes, they are hand picked by Denis and Kieran and brought to our land in Castlelyons. The land here surrounds the abattoir so they are brought directly from the field into the lairage, which means that they are calm and stress free at all times.
We have something for everyone
From dedicated meat lovers to picky eaters, we have something to suit all tastes. Our wide range including our own dripping, stir fries (chicken and beef), sauces, dry rubs, relishes, and vegetables ensures no one ever leaves disappointed!
